Access to the most current maps will allow you to use your navigation system more conveniently and accurately. To be sure your Scion iA always has the latest updates, use the Map Update Toolbox to view and download available updates and content, including complimentary map updates for three years, commencing when the vehicle has traveled 63 miles with the SD card inserted.

Click the icon on your desktop to open Map Update Toolbox. Insert the SD card from your vehicle into your computer to connect it to Map Update Toolbox. You will be prompted to create a backup of the SD card contents. Should your SD card become corrupted during the map update process, you will need the backup to restore your information. Install it to your PC, then connect your navigation device. After installing and starting Toyota Touch&Go Toolbox, you can start browsing the Maps & More page on the Toyota Touch&Go Download Services portal, where all available maps and 3D content is listed. Windows Operating System Instructions

Below are instructions to perform a map update using a computer with Windows OS:

DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL MAP UPDATE TOOLBOX:

  1. Select DOWNLOAD Map Update Toolbox FOR WINDOWS and save the 'MapUpdateToolbox-inst.exe' to your desktop.
  2. Once downloaded, open the file and follow instructions. Run the installer program as you would for any other software.

CREATE A BACKUP:

  1. Click the icon on your desktop to open Map Update Toolbox.
  2. Insert the SD card from your vehicle into your computer to connect it to Map Update Toolbox.
  3. You will be prompted to create a backup of the SD card contents. Should your SD card become corrupted during the map update process, you will need the backup to restore your information. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you perform the backup process at this time.

LOG IN/CREATE A USER PROFILE:

  1. When backup is complete, log into Map Update Toolbox by selecting NOT LOGGED IN from the top menu.
  2. Sign in using your username and password. If you have not yet registered, select CREATE A USER PROFILE to do so now.

INSTALL MAP UPDATES:

  1. Log into Map Update Toolbox.
  2. A button will appear on the left side menu. If an update is NOT currently available, the button will be labeled 'Device.' If an update is available, the button will be labeled, 'Updates.'
  3. Select UPDATES, if available. (VERY IMPORTANT: Be sure to read the entire 'PLEASE NOTE' section before beginning this process.)
  4. Select INSTALL to begin the process.

FINISH THE MAP UPDATE PROCESS:

  1. Once the update is complete, it is advisable to create a new backup of the SD card contents.
  2. Select BACKUPS from the left side menu.
  3. Select CREATE BACKUP.
  4. Once backup is finished, you may remove the SD card and insert it back into your vehicle.

OSX Operating System Instructions

Below are instructions to perform a map update using a computer with Mac OS:

DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL Map Update Toolbox:

  1. Select DOWNLOAD Map Update Toolbox FOR OSX.
  2. Once downloaded, locate the Downloads folder.
  3. Open 'Map Update Toolbox.dmg' and follow instructions. Run the installer program as you would for any other software. The toolbox will install to your Applications folder.

INSTALL MAP UPDATES:

  1. Insert the SD card from your vehicle into your computer.
  2. Open the Map Update Toolbox from your Applications folder.
  3. If an update is available, a button prompting to Download Latest Content will display.
  4. Select DOWNLOAD LATEST CONTENT to begin the process.
  5. Once completed, the toolbox will display SD Card is up-to-date. Select EXIT TOOLBOX.
  6. Properly eject the SD card from your computer. Once removed, insert it back into your vehicle.

After Naviextras Toolbox has been started, you will see the main page. Naviextras Toolbox will prompt you to connect your navigation device.

So the initial steps are:

1. Connect your navigation device to your PC.
2. Make sure your PC is connected to the internet.
3. After successful device connection, Naviextras Toolbox redirects you to the login page where you can log in.

Let's see them one by one:

1. Connect your navigation device to your PC.

If you have a PND (portable navigation device), in most cases you will also find a USB cable included in the box. Use this to connect your device to your PC.
Please note, that with some devices, the connection can only be established if the device is in Mass Storage mode. Please the user manual of your device for any instructions regarding this.
If you have a built-in navigation device, there are two methods for connection:
- If you received an SD card containing the navigation software when you purchased the unit, connect this card to your PC via cardreader.
- If the navigation is located in the internal memory of the head unit, a special tool might be required for successful connection. For this, please check this list. If a special connection method is needed, you will find information on this under your device model.

2. Make sure your PC is connected to the Internet.
Internet connection is required for Naviextras Toolbox to verify if any update is available for download, as well as for the download process itself.

3. After successful device connection, Naviextras Toolbox redirects you to the login page where you can log in.

If you already created a user account on Naviextras Toolbox, simply enter your username and password. If you do not have an account yet, you can create one by clicking “Create a user profile”. Of course, this username can be used to log in on the Naviextras.com website as well.
Once you are successfully logged in, your name will be shown on the top of all Naviextras Toolbox screens.
When your device is successfully connected and Naviextras Toolbox finds it in the list of supported devices, the device name will appear at the top of the Naviextras Toolbox window.
(Please note that Naviextras Toolbox might give a slightly different device name than the one you may find on the packaging or in the product information. This does not affect the device functions or the installations of updates in any way.)
If Naviextras Toolbox recognizes the device and you are logged in, your device is automatically registered on Naviextras.com. You do not need to take any additional steps.
(Some navigation devices are capable of collecting strictly anonymous usage statistics and GPS logs. These logs can be used by the developers to improve the quality of maps and the navigation software. If your device can collect such information, Naviextras Toolbox will ask you to allow the upload of that information for anonymous processing.
